That's what it takes to master something. Not become the best in the world. Just top 10%. Real expertise.

My team and I have put in at least that much on AI products and tools. Probably more.

So when I tell you we rebuilt a legacy platform in three weeks, understand what that actually means. It's not because we picked up Cursor two months ago and figured it out. We've been doing this for years, 3 years to be exact. We know what works, what breaks, and how to extract real business value from these tools.

Some days I still don't think we have enough mastery. The technology moves that fast. But we have enough to do things other teams think are impossible.

Here's what I want you to take away:

There's no shortcut to mastery. You can't read about it. You can't take a workshop and call yourself an expert. You have to put in the time behind the wheel.

Whether it's AI, leadership, shooting free throws or anything else worth doing,  it just takes time to get good at it.

So the next time someone tells you something isn't possible or seems too ambitious, ask yourself one question:

How many hours have they actually put in?

Put in a few hours this week doing AI. I promise it gets easier the more time you spend on it.
